When I picked up Alexa from school tonight, she recited a laundry list of activities she wanted to accomplish in the three and a half hours left in her day: jump on the trampoline, practice stopping on her bicycle, take Alstott for a walk, read a book, watch her daily allowance of one television show, play with her Calico Critters, etc.... It was quite a list! A month ago we would have been able to tackle and complete the list without issue, but nowadays it's a little more challenging. Alexa had to settle for jumping on the trampoline while I made dinner - a very gourmet meal of hot dogs (sort of...they were chicken) in crescent rolls and green beans, and the dog walking and bike riding had to be deferred to another day. Even without these activities, the two of us (+ Ani) were busy until 8:30 pm when she begrudgingly agreed to go to bed....by 8:33 pm she was sound asleep.
Alexa's had to endure a big transition since Ani's arrival, but thankfully she has been extremely understanding of the changes. When I suggested that she take a little break and have some quiet time tonight, she guffawed at my suggestion....some things just can't be changed.
